Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a current buzzword at the moment and I can't help but find myself jumping on the bandwagon a little bit! For those of you that don't know mindfulness in an ancient Buddhist practice, which basically means paying attention to the present moment, in a non-judgemental way. As an aim to increase awareness, clarity and acceptance of our present moment. I recently attended mindfulness training. I was slightly already aware of it through a book I had read called the art of being brilliant (which I intend to blog about at a latter date!) The training was actually really interesting, though basic in some places. It helped me to think about the way in which I look at the world, I think i'm prone to looking at the negative a lot and need to start seeing the positive in my life a little bit more!

I know it is easy to be sceptical and I think I am a little bit, but surely looking at the good things in life can't be bad perspective eh?! The course taught about some 5 mins calming exercise to do in the morning and before bed, mini meditations if you will, I think i'm gonna give them a go and see how I feel and let you know. It seems like a good idea but it all depends if I can drag myself out of bed in the morning for those five minutes or a more likely option is that I will hit that inevitable snooze button! We'll see!

Until next time internets,

Catch you all later,

Jet
